What Are Heartworms?

Heartworms are parasitic worms that live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels of pets, causing serious damage over time. Transmitted by infected mosquitoes, heartworms can grow up to a foot long and cause life-threatening conditions if left untreated.




Symptoms of Heartworm Disease


Early signs: 

  • Coughing

  • Fatigue

  • Weight loss

  • Decreased appetite


Advanced signs:

  • Heart failure

  • Severe weight loss

  • Fluid buildup in the abdomen
